Since I recently shared a Las Vegas Temple Sunset photo I decided today would be a good day to share a sunrise. I set my alarm for 4:30 in the morning so I would have time to get ready and drive the 40 min to the Temple, set up, and get some great photos. Well I woke up, looked out the window and saw a bunch of ugly flat clouds and went back to bed, telling myself I was too tired anyway. Well after 2 minute in bed I realized I was not tired at all (this is what we call a miracle, and turned out to be a tender mercy) so I got up and decided I didn't have any overcast photos of the Temple anyway.
By the time I got to the Temple the clouds had thinned and the sun had started to rise and I was extremely glad I got out of bed after all. I spent about 2 hours walking around the Temple, getting new takes on old photos and trying some new things as well. The fountain was on this morning so I decided to stop and see what I could make of it. This is a place I stop for wedding photos, mostly looking the other way at the city, or from down low looking up at the spires, but I had never thought of taking a shot from here, since you can't see Moroni. Again, so glad I did.
I love spending time walking around and looking at the Temples. I always try to dress appropriately to be on Temple grounds and out of respect for the patrons as well. It also allows me to go inside, which is a real treat. Well on this particular morning I was about to go to work when my brother shows up and invites me to go do some baptisms with him. It was a great end to a great trip to the Temple.
